Joseph Morgam Joins ‘Vampire Diaries’

Joseph Morgan (TV’s Ben-Hur) has joined the cast of The Vampire Diaries. He will play the role of Klaus, an old and bad vampire that will make trouble for Elena Gilbert and vampire brothers Stefan and Damon.

Executive producer Julie Plec commented late last year saying that she estimated a couple hundred actors had already read for the role. “We’ve been getting great tapes out of England and Australia. That’s what excites me: This idea that there might be somebody out there that no one’s really familiar with yet that can be a new fresh face that we can exploit… in all the good ways,” Plec commented.

“I think our show works so well because we don’t really stunt cast. That being said, if there’s some big hot TV star that’s available that we love, then… As I always joke, I have my Joshua Jackson fantasy — Pacey in Mystic Falls.” Plec added.

Joseph Morgan will make his debut on The Vampire Diaries on April 21st. We can’t wait!
