‘Game of Thrones’ Renewed for Two More Seasons
HBO has announced that they have renewed the popular show show Game of Thrones for a fifth and sixth season following its season premiere earning the highest viewership for the network since the Sopranos series finale in 2007.
HBO programming president Michael Lombardo said in the announcement, “Game of Thrones is a phenomenon like no other. David Benioff and D.B. Weiss, along with their talented collaborators, continue to surpass themselves, and we look forward to more of their dazzling storytelling.”
This means that series will at the very least get through the fourth book in George R.R. Martin’s Song of Ice and Fire series, titled A Feast for Crows. Seasons three and four comprise the third book, A Storm of Swords and Martin has one further book already published with two more on the way.
