Michael Cera to Make Broadway Debut

Actor Michael Cera is set to make his Broadway debut in the revival of This is Our Youth.

The Arrested Development star will appear alongside fellow Broadway newcomers Kieran Culkin and fashion pundit Tavi Gevinson in the revival of Kenneth Lonergan’s 1996 play.

Cera will play Warren, a dejected 19 year old who has stolen $15,000 from his tycoon father, while Culkin will portray his drug-dealer friend Dennis and Gevinson will be Warren’s love interest Jessica. The male leads first appeared in the play together in Sydney, Australia in 2012.

The play, produced by Scott Rudin and directed by Anna D. Shapiro, will be staged by the Steppenwolf Theatre Company in Chicago, Illinois, where previews will begin on 10 June, and will then transfer to Broadway’s Court Theatre in August.
