Joss Whedon Skips Theaters; Releases Newest Film Online Instead

Joss Whedon stunned his fans by releasing his newest film online, minutes after it premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival in New York on Sunday.

In a short video message, recorded on the set of Avengers  sequel Age of Ultron, Whedon announced In Your Eyes would be available to rent via Vimeo.com immediately. “It’s exciting for us because we get to explore yet another new form of distribution – and we get $5 (rental fee),” expressed Whedon.

Stars Zoe Kazan and Nikki Reed walked the red carpet at Tribeca to promote the supernatural love story, which was written and produced by Whedon.
