Taylor Momsen And Jessica Szohr Are Leaving ‘Gossip Girl’

Taylor Momsen and Jessica Szohr are leaving Gossip Girl despite the show’s renewal for a fifth season. Taylor had been rumored to be done with the show for quite sometime… or Gossip Girl seemed to be done with her. I’m not really sure which, but her exit isn’t a big shock to fans since Momsen has made it clear that The Pretty Reckless is her focus. And with as awesome as their music is, I can definitely understand and support her! I just hope that she doesn’t pull a Britney like she did last year.

In regards to Jessica Szohr (who is leaving the series to study aboard), I think fans have been slowly weaned off her. With all the Juliet drama that happened mid-season and some very not Vanessa-like behavior, I don’t think that her absence will be greatly missed. Though, I personally still want to see Vanessa and Dan end up together – fans are going to have a field day with me for that one. 🙂

With the exit of Taylor and Jessica, there’s room for some new series regulars. We can expect to see Kaylee DeFer, who plays Charlie, added as a regular. Which I’m pretty sure means Charlie will be the new resident villain for Season 5. She just creeps me out… am I alone in that? And what is that medication for?! Maybe we’ll find out next week… though I would love to hear any fan theories that are circulating!
