‘Gotham’ Gets Series Pick-Up from Fox

It’s a good night for Gotham! The much-anticipated Batman prequel has been picked up as a series by bosses at America’s Fox network, and Fox just released a brand new extended trailer for the new series as well. The new teaser aired tonight during 24: Live Another Day. We have it below!

The project will chronicle James Gordon’s early days as a Gotham City Police Department detective, long before he became Batman’s ally Commissioner Gordon.

The O.C. star Benjamin McKenzie will play the young Gordon, who has been portrayed on the big screen by Gary Oldman and Pat Hingle, while Jada Pinkett Smith, Donal Logue, Sean Pertwee and Erin Richards are among those who have joined the cast of the action-packed drama.

No premiere date has been announced, but it will be this fall.

Executive producer Bruno Heller (“The Mentalist”) wrote the pilot, which was directed and executive-produced by Emmy Award nominee Danny Cannon (the “CSI” franchise, “Nikita”). John Stephens will serve as an executive producer on the series.
