Kylie Minogue Leaves Longtime Record Label

After 15 years with Parlophone Records, Australian singer Kylie Minogue has decided to sever ties with the label.

Minogue was “bitterly disappointed” with the lackluster performance of her 12th studio album, Kiss Me Once, which hit stores in March 2014.

The record has sold a mere 60,000 copies to date – a measly figure compared to Kylie’s past successes.

Minogue also put in a good deal of her own time to boost sales, but her efforts proved fruitless. According to a source, “Kylie did everything she could, even agreeing to be a judge on The Voice (U.K.) for a year, which is something she would’ve liked to avoid.”

The pop star will further attempt to promote the album in September 2014 on the Kiss Me Once Tour.
