Another Director Passes on ‘Ant-Man’
Director Rawson Thurber (We’re The Millers, Dodgeball: A True Underdog Story) has passed on Marvel’s Ant-Man. Thurber was the next choice for Marvel to replace Edgar Wright after Adam McKay (Anchorman) also dropped out. McKay seemed to have briefly accepted the job but later cited a busy schedule as his reason for not being able to commit.
McKay and Thurber were considered along with Ruben Fleischer (Zombieland). It remains to be seen if Fleischer is offered the job, but he has recently been linked to Ghostbusters 3, which if true would keep his schedule pretty busy.
Marvel still wants the film to be completed for a July 17, 2015 release date, but time is running out.
