TBS Cancels ‘Lopez Tonight’

TBS sent out the following announcement, confirming the cancellation of Lopez Tonight:

“TBS has reached the difficult decision not to order a third season of Lopez Tonight. Thursday will be the final episode of the show. We are proud to have partnered with George Lopez, who is an immensely talented comedian and entertainer. TBS has valued its partnership with George and appreciates all of his work on behalf of the network, both on and off the air.”

Ratings for the Lopez Tonight show have been down, which is the reason for the cancellation. Since Conan O’Brien came to TBS, Lopez’s numbers have dropped 40%. For example, on Monday, Conan pulled in a 0.5 rating in the key demographic (18 – 49) with 715,000 viewers. Lopez scored around 0.2, with 400,000 viewers.
