Dean Norris Cast to Portray Ben Franklin in New Miniseries
History has given the go-ahead on a new Revolutionary War-centered miniseries from A+E Studios, and reports of secured participants look more than promising.
The six-part show, titled Sons of Liberty, will boast a star-studded team both behind and in front of the camera. Kari Skogland (Fifty Dead Men Walking) will helm the project and Hans Zimmer will compose the title theme.
Dean Norris, known for his performance as Hank Schrader on Emmy-winning drama Breaking Bad, has been chosen to play Benjamin Franklin.
Other notable casts include Ben Barnes (The Chronicles of Narnia) as Sam Adams, Henry Thomas (E.T The Extraterrestrial) as John Adams, Michael Raymond James (True Blood) as Paul Revere, and multiple other A-listers.
“From the Boston Tea Party to the Declaration of Independence, ‘Sons of Liberty’ will tell the rebellious story of America’s greatest fight for freedom,” explained History general manager Dirk Hoogstra on Wednesday. “Adams, Hancock, Revere, are famous names in our history books, and Sons of Liberty will bring their stories to life.”
Sons of Liberty will begin production this summer.
