Disney has been wildly successful in recent years with their live action productions of animated classics, so one of the franchise’s most beloved tales should be no exception.
A live action version of Disney’s Beauty and the Beast is in the works, and The Twilight Saga‘s Bill Condon is already set to direct.
Mandeville Films (The Proposal) will produce the movie, and Evan Spiliotopoulos (The Lion King 1 1/2) will write its script.
So far, there have been no casting announcements.
And Beauty and the Beast isn’t the only live-action Disney classic in production – Cinderella and The Jungle Book are also getting revivals.
No estimated release date has been announced.
