The Big Bang Theory: The Bat Jar Conjecture

In episode 13 from Season 1 of The Big Bang Theory, Sheldon finds himself ostracized from the group due to his arrogance on partaking in a physics bowl. Leonard, Raj, and Howard kick Sheldon off their team after he takes it upon himself to answer every question during a practice session. In hopes of softening the blow, Leonard gives Sheldon a Batman cookie jar. Sheldon isn’t giving up though, and starts his own specially selected team with (what one might call) less-than-qualified team members. He names them The Army Ants. Leonard, Raj, Howard, and new team member Leslie adorn themselves with the name Perpetual Motion Squad (comically referred to as PMS) and face down with Sheldon in the final round.

After the competition comes to a rather awkward – yet hysterical conclusion – Penny ends up showing all the guys up in the final scene with a pop culture quiz in which none of the guys are able to answer any questions. That’s our homegirl!

  1. It’s hard to pin down a single Sheldon moment; there are so many throughout the seasons. Although drunk Sheldon is really funny when it happens. That was funny in this episode; AA vs. PMS
