Filmmaker Paul Mazursky Dies at 84


Oscar nominated moviemaker Paul Mazursky has died at age 84.

According to a family spokeswoman, the An Unmarried Woman director passed away after suffering a pulmonary cardiac arrest at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles on Monday. Mazursky had been ill for sometime.

Mazursky was nominated for an Academy Award five times and twice competed for the Palme D’Or at the Cannes Film Festival.

His film credits also included Blume in Love and Harry and Tonto.

Flowers were placed on Mazursky’s star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame at 6667 Hollywood Boulevard on Tuesday afternoon.
