FXX Orders New Series ‘Man Seeking Woman’

FXX has ordered ten episodes of the comedy series Man Seeking Woman, which will star Jay Baruchel. It was written by Simon Rich (Saturday Night Live) and will air on FXX in 2015. Nick Grad and Eric Schrier, Presidents of Original Programming for FX Networks and FX Productions, made the announcement.

Here’s a synopsis: A sweet and absurd look at the surreal life-and-death stakes of dating, Man Seeking Woman centers on Josh Greenberg (Baruchel), a naive romantic on a desperate quest for love.

The series also stars Eric André (The Eric André Show), Britt Lower (Unforgettable) and Maya Erskine (Betas).

It’s based on Rich’s book of short stories called The Last Girlfriend on Earth. He wrote the pilot, which will be directed by Jonathan Krisel (Portlandia). Rich will also be the executive producer and showrunner, along with executive producers Krisel, Andrew Singer and Lorne Michaels’ Broadway Video will produce for FX Productions.
