Joe Manganiello Eager for ‘True Blood’ Spin-Off (Spoilers)
Joe Manganiello is writing a script for his True Blood character in the hope of scoring his own spin-off movie.
The hit supernatural drama is currently in the midst of its seventh and final season, but Manganiello won’t be part of the finale, as his werewolf counterpart, Alcide Herveaux, was shockingly killed on the latest episode, which aired in America on Sunday.
During a recent interview with MTV News, the Magic Mike star hinted that he’s eager to continue playing Alcide in his own project, which he hopes will be approved by Charlaine Harris, who penned the novels on which the series is based.
He reveals, “I would love to do an Alcide movie at some point. I’d love to do a one-off, a spin-off adventure somewhere, in the way that Wolverine had.
“I’d love to be able to do that, in the world of werewolves. I actually started writing a script, and was thinking maybe one of these days I’ll call up Charlaine… She said if I ever came to her house she’d make me dinner, so maybe I’ll go down to her house and pitch it to her.
“Nobody’s really done the werewolf movie right, to me. I just don’t know that anybody’s really got it right. True Blood was right on the edge of it. It was there. If we take it the next step further, it could go.”
