Ryan Murphy says that the second season of American Horror Story will be very different from the first. Murphy has confirmed rumors that the second season will be “radically different” and will feature a new setting and cast of characters.
“The second season of the show will [feature] a brand new home or building to haunt,” he said yesterday. “It will also have a new overriding theme.”
Murphy said that some current cast members will return, albeit playing different roles. Connie Britton and Dylan McDermott will not be back, at least in terms of being regulars. “There will be familiar faces and some new faces,” he said. “People that are coming back will be playing completely new characters.”
He noted that he’s in talks with some members of the cast for a full-time return but has not named names; a cast list and storyline announcement will be made in February. Murphy did say that we should have an idea of where things will be going, saying, “There’s a clue in the last three episodes where we say what the second season will be.”
