‘American Horror Story’ Seeing Big Changes in Season 2

Ryan Murphy says that the second season of American Horror Story will be very different from the first. Murphy has confirmed rumors that the second season will be “radically different” and will feature a new setting and cast of characters.

“The second season of the show will [feature] a brand new home or building to haunt,” he said yesterday. “It will also have a new overriding theme.”

Murphy said that some current cast members will return, albeit playing different roles. Connie Britton and Dylan McDermott will not be back, at least in terms of being regulars. “There will be familiar faces and some new faces,” he said. “People that are coming back will be playing completely new characters.”

He noted that he’s in talks with some members of the cast for a full-time return but has not named names; a cast list and storyline announcement will be made in February. Murphy did say that we should have an idea of where things will be going, saying, “There’s a clue in the last three episodes where we say what the second season will be.”

  1. Haha, maybe Ryan Murphy won’t get so bored and/or take out cast frustrations on characters if he has new toys to play with every season.

  2. Ok, so I love this show! I’m kind of depressed though that we will be saying goodbye to the Harmons. I definantly hope that Jessica Lange comes back. She was the star of the first season. My prediction for the next season is it will be set in Florida with Viven’s Sister. That’s the only place thaat was talked about a lot in the end of the season, but we will see.

  3. also want to say that the intro to this show is so scary. The music and those old black and white photos of children. CREEPY!! LOL

  4. Haven’t seen all of season one yet and try to avoid the spoiler posts all of the web which seem endless.. that is a GOOD thing though, overall. I love when shows are so full of surprises and relevant evolution of the plot.
