FXX to Set Marathon Record with ‘The Simpsons’

FXX has announced a record-breaking marathon of The Simpsons in celebration of its acquisition of the series’ exclusive cable and authenticated non-linear VOD rights.

The network will air a staggering 552 episode marathon of the series that will also include The Simpsons Movie after episode 400, airing in chronological order. The marathon will launch on August 21st at 10 AM ET/PT and run through September 1st at 12 AM/PT. That makes it the longest-running marathon in television history.

FXX will then begin regularly airing the show in various parts of its schedule, including a thematic mini-marathon of eight episodes every Sunday beginning at 4 PM ET/PT and ending just in time for FOX’s broadcast of the new episode.
