‘Reign’ Star Adelaide Kane Talks Mary Queen of Scots Comic-Con 2014

Calling all Reign fans! Series star Adelaide Kane gave fans a peek inside the mind of Mary, Queen of Scots, at Comic-Con 2014 yesterday.

Reign follows the Queen of Scots’ life at French court. Speaking on the differences between historical Queen Mary and show Queen Mary, Kane noted that historical Mary was more “impetuous and free-spirited” than the character she portrays on the show. “The Mary I created for the show needed to be a little more contained and real and steady just to kind of help support the story.” She added.

It seems that show Mary and historical Mary may soon collide, however, as Adelaide noted that “She’s [Mary’s] starting to make more rash decisions.” Mary will continue to explore her anger and Kane even mentioned that she’s beginning to “find out exactly how far she’s willing to go.”

It sounds like fans are in for a treat, when Reign returns to The CW for its second season premiere on October 2nd.
