‘The Vampire Diaries’ Star Paul Wesley Asks Fans to Help Cancer-Stricken Friend

The Vampire Diaries star Paul Wesley is is using his fame for a great cause and calling on fans to help raise funds to go towards treatments for his cancer-stricken friend.

The actor posted a video on YouTube on Monday in which he talks about his 30-year-old friend Maggie, who was diagnosed with a brain tumor last week.

He describes her as a full-time employee who, even with insurance benefits, will be left with “monumental” medical costs that are “virtually insurmountable”.

Wesley says, “I’m humbly asking you guys here to join me today and donate.”

The actor is even offering fans Vampire Diaries memorabilia and a personal phone call in exchange for donations to the Rally.org fundraiser, which was launched on Monday.

Maggie’s family and friends are hoping to raise at least $25,000 to cover costs associated with major surgery she’s slated to have next week.
