NBC Releases Trailer For J.J. Abrams And Eric Kripke’s ‘Revolution’

NBC released a four minute movie style trailer for its new series Revolution yesterday. Directed by Iron Man‘s John Favreau and written by Supernatural creator Eric Kripke and Lost mastermind J.J. Abrams, the series is already becoming one of the most talked about new shows of the fall.

The pilot, which shot in Atlanta back in March, had a rather unique deal behind it. The project commitment had a massive $2 million penalty attached to it which rolled over from Abram’s previous project last year at NBC.

Check out the trailer for Revolution below!

To us, it looks a bit like The Walking Dead or Falling Skies… Minus the zombies and aliens of course. With Abrams and Kripke behind it though – we have no doubt that it’ll be one amazing new series. We just hope it has better luck than Abram’s last project – Alcatraz – which Fox cancelled last week.

Traditionally, sci-fi-esque shows haven’t done too well on NBC. From a strong first season with Heroes which lead to painful second and third seasons with continually falling ratings to 2010’s The Event… NBC keeps trying to strike gold in the genre – perhaps Revolution will be the answer. It certainly has all the right players behind it.
