‘Frozen’ Director Developing ‘A Wrinkle in Time’ Film

Frozen writer/director Jennifer Lee is set to develop a big screen adaptation of science fantasy novel A Wrinkle in Time.

The Oscar winner will write the script for the Disney film, which will be based on Madeleine L’Engle’s 1962 book, about a group of children who travel back in time to find their missing scientist father.

The book is the first of Madeleine L’Engle’s “Time Quartet” series. The series also includes A Wind in the Door, Many Waters and A Swiftly Tilting Planet.

According to Variety.com, Lee has been a fan of the series since she was a child and the film will emphasize a strong female-driven narrative.

The project has been in development since 2010, when Bridge to Terabithia writer Jeff Stockwell was hired to pen the script.

A director has yet to be chosen for the film.

Are you excited to see the classic brought to the big screen?
