Kyle MacLachlan Joins ‘Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.’

Kyle MacLachlan joins Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. in the upcoming second season and he has a doozy of a role as Skye’s mysterious father.

The end of season one of  Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.  concluded with one of the final scenes in which the villainous Raina approached a mostly-unseen figure, giving him a picture of Skye and saying “I found your daughter.” We found out in the first season that Skye is an 084, or an “object of unknown origin.” That’s led to a lot of speculation of exactly who Skye’s father might be.

No further details about MacLachlan’s character are available, at least yet, but he should be helping shed some light on the huge mystery of Skye’s lineage. We’ll let you know as we find out more.

The show premieres its second season on September 23rd at 9 PM ET/PT.
