Jackie Chan’s Son Detained in China on Drug Charges

Jackie Chan’s son has reportedly been arrested on drug charges.

Jacyee Chan and Taiwanese actor Kai Ko were detained following a drug bust in Beijing on Thursday, according to the South China Morning Post.

The actors, who were only identified through their surnames, reportedly tested positive for marijuana and confessed to using the drug.

A subsequent search of Chan’s home recovered 100 grams of marijuana and the 32-year-old has been charged with “providing a shelter for others to abuse drugs”.

Chan faces three years in prison if convicted, while Ko could be put under administrative detention for 15 days.

According to The Huffington Post, Jaycee Chan’s management, M’Stones International, has already apologized to the public on Jaycee’s behalf for the “social impact caused” in a statement on their website. It said they would “supervise his rehabilitation and help him return to the right path.”

Jackie, who was was appointed an anti-drug ambassador by China’s National Narcotics Control Commission in 2009, has yet to comment on the story.
