Persona 4 Arena Ultimax: New Trailers for Adachi, Marie, and Margaret

Wasting very little time after the previous batch of US trailers, Atlus USA put out a new one for Persona 4 Arena Ultimax. This time, the trailer focuses on two characters rather than one trailer per character as usual. First, the trailer shows off footage of the twisted Tohru Adachi and his Persona, Magatsu-Izanagi. As previously mentioned in an earlier article, Adachi is capable of inflicting status effects and giving himself a power-up of sorts. Both of which are demonstrated as he appears to give himself a special boost of some kind and later inflicts the Fear status effect on his opponent at one point. After that, the trailer looks at Marie and her Persona, Kaguya. Also previously mentioned was the ability to manipulate the weather for various effects. The trailer shows off Snow and the boost she gets out of that is a gradual stream of recovering SP. She also is capable of using items from her bag, as the trailer shows her leaving a present on the floor that hits the opponent multiple times. Gamers in the US will be able to download both Adachi and Marie for free during the game’s first week of release. Persona 4 Arena Ultimax launches in the States on September 30th.

In addition, the Japanese version of the game got a new trailer for the game’s third DLC character, Margaret. While the previous screenshots showed her with either 5 or 9 Persona cards, the gameplay footage here shows her with 8 cards instead, to make the finalized count. With 8 cards, this still gives her the highest amount of any playable character in the roster. The trailer shows brief footage of all of her Personas in combat, too. There is no US release information on Margaret at this point in time. It’s worth noting the Japanese release has a slightly different title, Persona 4 The Ultimax: Ultra Suplex Hold. Thanks to Margaret’s over-the-top grab animation, the game finally has someone to live up to it’s silly, equally over-the-top title.
