BBC Drops ‘Doctor Who’ Beheading Scene

BBC bosses have insisted producers re-edit this weekend’s Doctor Who episode to remove a scene where a character is beheaded.

The executives feared the footage would be insensitive to air on TV following the recent murders of two journalists by Islamic State militants.

A video released this week showed the beheading of American reporter Steven Sotloff by the same masked fundamentalist who murdered James Foley last month.

The edited scene appeared in the episode during a fight sequence between Robin Hood and the Sheriff of Nottingham.

A BBC spokeswoman says, “In light of recent news events, we have made an edit to episode three out of respect.”
