Mike Tyson Goes Off During Live Interview
Mike Tyson unleashed an expletive-ridden tirade against an interviewer on live TV today.
The former boxer appeared on the CP24 news channel in Toronto, Canada on Wednesday afternoon to throw his support behind the city’s Mayor Rob Ford, who is seeking re-election.
Journalist Nathan Downer, mentioned Tyson’s prior rape conviction, suggesting his involvement could hinder Ford’s campaign, and the athlete refused to respond to the question, saying, “No comment, it’s negative…”
The subject changed but Tyson interrupted Downer and launched into a foul-mouthed rant, saying, “You come across like a nice guy but you’re really a piece of s**t with that comment. F**k you, that (question) was a piece of s**t.”
Downer attempted to move the interview along, asking Tyson if he gets nervous before his one man show, but the boxer replied with more expletives, raging, “It’s more nerve-wracking being here talking to a rat piece of s**t like you. No, you’re a piece of s**t, you really didn’t have to do that, you’re a piece of s**t.”
The interview was then cut short.
Tyson served three years in prison for the rape conviction, and was released in 1995.
Downer has since tweeted about the incident posting:
I'm okay everybody. Unfortuantlely my question hurt Mike Tyson's feelings. That was not my intentions. My apolgies for the language

No ill will toward Mike Tyson. He lashed out at me and that's okay. Not taking it personally pic.twitter.com/e27mfrOagJ
