Selena Gomez’s Former Onscreen ‘Wizards of Waverly Place’ Uncle Says Star’s Sexualization is ‘Disgusting’

Selena Gomez’s former onscreen uncle struggles to watch his one-time co-star perform onstage and in videos because he hates the way she has been sexualized.

Curb Your Enthusiasm star Jeff Garlin played Uncle Kelbo opposite the singer in hit Disney show Wizards of Waverly Place, and admits he became close to the young star.

The funnyman tells The Huffington Post, “I worked with her for three years, and I love her. She is, at least in terms of what I saw, a great kid, but then I see her sexualised…

“I look at her, and I look at this Ariana Grande… both beautiful girls, but they have baby fat! They look like kids!”

And Garlin admits he had a hard time watching his former TV niece in her racy 2012 film Spring Breakers, adding, “I’m by myself in the theater, and I couldn’t have felt dirtier… I see the thing, but I see those chubby cheeks. She’s a kid. This is disgusting that it’s happening so young.”
