‘Modern Family’ Star Sarah Hyland Granted Permanent Restraining Order Against Ex-Boyfriend

Sarah Hyland’s ex-boyfriend has been banned from contacting the actress for the next three years after a judge granted her request for a permanent restraining order.

The Modern Family star split from Matthew Prokop in May and sought out a protection order last month, amid allegations he had terrorized her verbally and physically during the last four years of their relationship.

She obtained a temporary ban against him in late September after revealing he had threatened to harm her dog and set one of her homes on fire, and on Monday a California judge ordered Prokop to stay at least 100 yards away from the 23-year-old, her house and her place of work until 2017.

The restraining order extends to Hyland’s pet pooch Barkley Bixby, while Prokop must also refrain from possessing a firearm or ammunition, according to TMZ.
