Robert Downey Jr. Confirms ‘Iron Man 4’
There are a lot of rumors floating around about the state of the Marvel Cinematic Universe but the fate of the Iron Man franchise is one of the most popular for people to talk about. Now a fourth movie has been confirmed as Robert Downey Jr. confirmed on The Ellen DeGeneres Show that a fourth Iron Man is in the works.
Downey was asked by Ellen about the possibility and said, “I know there’s going to be more Marvel movies, and they have big ideas of how to do it best. We’re in the middle of negotiations, blah blah blah.” That caused Ellen to ask “So, yes?” Downey finally replied, “Okay, yes!”
Also, during a recent Reddit Ask Me Anything Downey discussed various Marvel aspects. First, when asked about a comment he made that he would do Iron Man 4 if Mel Gibson returned, he typed, “It was an offhanded remark to a journalist and friend. I have other projects in mind for Mel and I – sooner than later the Marvel Roster will be made public and all questions will be answered.”
And finally he offered a tantalizing bit for fans of Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., naming it when someone asked what show he would consider guest starring on. He then clarified though, saying, “Nothing is impossible. But there might be a fair amount of red tape involved in something like that. I love Clark Gregg, and am pleased the show is doing so well.”
Might we be seeing Iron Man on Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D? Who knows, but we certainly hope so. It wouldn’t be the first movie crossover as we have already see guest appearances by Cobie Smulders, Samuel L. Jackson, and Hayley Atwell.
