‘The Walking Dead’ Star Norman Reedus Suffered Whiplash on Set

The Walking Dead star Norman Reedus suffered whiplash on the set of the zombie drama series after injuring himself during a fight scene.

The actor, who plays crossbow-toting Daryl Dixon on the show, reveals he had to beat up a co-star’s stunt double on camera, but the stand-in was so tough, Dixon was the one left wounded.

He tells Us Weekly magazine, “I had to deck (punch) a huge guy recently, and they swapped out the actor with a stunt double who was like, made of rock.

“I’m looking at him going, ‘This is going to hurt.’ And it did. I woke up with whiplash the next morning.”

However, it wasn’t the only injury Dixon nursed during shooting.

He adds, “Last season I had stitches on my forehead. This season I had stitches on my forearm. I’ve had four black eyes, a dislocated shoulder (throughout the series). We all get beat up, but you go home and it seems like a good day’s work.”
