Jonathan Banks Joins ‘Better Call Saul’

Jonathan Banks has joined the cast of Better Call Saul as Saul’s private investigator/fixer Michael “Mike” Ehrmantraut.

The series is a prequel to AMC/Sony TV’s Breaking Bad, focusing on criminal lawyer Saul Goodman (Bob Odenkirk) before the events of that series in which he became Walter White’s lawyer. Banks will be a series regular on the show, which was put together by Breaking Bad creator Vince Gilligan and writer/producer Peter Gould. It will debut on AMC in November.

Odenkirk and Banks are the only cast members set for the series so far. There has been some speculation about which characters from Breaking Bad will appear. Gilligan has said in the past he wanted Mike to come back while both Aaron Paul and Bryan Cranston have said they wanted to be a part of the show. Jesse has also been considered for a return.
