Morena Baccarin Joins Fox’s ‘Gotham’

Morena Baccarin (Firefly) has joined the cast of Fox’s Gotham. She will play the role of Dr. Leslie Thompkins. Thompkins is a “gifted and dedicated physician” who was a friend to the late Thomas and Martha Wayne. She wants to use her skills to help Gotham’s most needy, and that leads her to working at the newly opened Arkham Asylum’s Home for the Criminally Insane.

DC created the character in the 70s, and during that time she served as a surrogate mother to Bruce after the death of his parents and later a confidant of Batman.

Baccarin’s recurring role will begin in early 2015.
