Michael Fassbender Eyed as Christian Bale’s Replacement in Steve Jobs Biopic

Michael Fassbender has emerged as the favorite to replace Christian Bale as Steve Jobs in a new movie adaptation of biographer Walter Isaacson’s book.

The Dark Knight star picked up the role from Leonardo DiCaprio, who was originally attached to the Danny Boyle film, but now Bale has walked away from the project and Fassbender is in early talks to play the late Apple boss.

Sources tell The Hollywood Reporter Boyle is preparing to meet actors and actresses for potential roles in his film and Seth Rogen is in discussions to play Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak.

The reason given for Bale’s…well, bailing…was that he did not feel he was the right fit for the movie. Bale became the frontrunner to portray the late Apple Computer co-founder in the film adaptation of Pulitzer Prize-winning author Walter Isaacson’s best-selling biography after Leonardo DiCaprio dropped out of the project to make The Revenant.

Let’s hope whoever they cast as Steve Jobs this time decides to stick around.
