‘Doctor Who’ Star Peter Capaldi Sends Sweet Message to Grieving Young Fan

Doctor Who star Peter Capaldi has sent a touching video message to an autistic child who was struggling to come to terms with his grandmother’s death.

The Scottish actor recorded the comforting clip for grieving nine-year-old Thomas Goodall in character as the Time Lord to help him cope with the devastating loss.

In the message, Capaldi says:

“When Clara (Doctor Who’s sidekick) and I are travelling around time and space sometimes bad things happen to us. And you know what Thomas, sometimes sad things happen to us too. So it’s nice to know that there’s somebody out there like you who’s on our side. And you should know that we are on your side too. So look after yourself, you take care and be happy.”

The boy’s father uploaded the video to YouTube with the note, “A lovely message from Peter Capaldi to my nine-year-old autistic son. This arrived just before Thomas’ nanny’s funeral and helped him to deal with his grief in a profound way. Thank you Peter so much.”
