Liv Tyler has had quite the year, from starring in HBO’s new hit series The Leftovers to becoming pregnant with her second child, and she recently sat down to talk about why 2014 was her best year yet with Town & Country magazine.
The Leftovers debuted this year with strong first season ratings and has already been renewed for a second. When asked about her role on the series as Guilty Remnant member Meg, Liv said,“When I heard the premise, I thought, ‘That’s right up my street.’ I’m attracted to things that are a little off. Growing up I was a huge fan of The Twilight Zone, Twin Peaks, and Creepshow – things that don’t provide all the answers. Normally I’d say I’m not a competitive person; I kind of think things happen for a reason. But for the first time in my life I really went for a role.”
Another notable change for the star that’s happened over the last year is that she purchased a country home in Hudson, New York. “My real personality comes out in the country. More spontaneous, more excited. There’s always someone watching you in the city – you’re a sort of zoo animal. My true nature is to want to hide a bit.”
Liv and her husband are parents to son Milo, so when asked about how it is being pregnant with her second child Liv revealed,“The most fun thing about being pregnant again is having those mom hormones flowing around. You’re more present in your body, and it’s making me a better mother for Milo.”
With so many new positive changes in the pipeline for Liv, 2014 has been an exciting whirlwind of a year for her and when asked about how she was handling it she told the mag, “I mean, for seven years I’d been saying I wanted to do an HBO show with an ensemble cast. And I wanted a house in the country. And getting to have another child? If you knew me well, they were the things my heart longed for. And they all came together, like a speeding freight train, in one year.”
Finally, when your dad is a famous rockstar, it’s only right that he gets to gloat about his gorgeous successful daughter in a magazine profile. Steven Tyler told the Town & Country writer that he was most impressed with his daughter’s ability to “recognize what she does have and to know that happiness doesn’t come from stuff we don’t have. She’s taught me that time and time again.”
