Jai Courtney in Talks to Play Deadshot in ‘Suicide Squad’
Jai Courtney is in negotiations to tackle the role of Batman’s nemesis Deadshot in the planned comic book movie adaptation of Suicide Squad, according to a new report.
Sources tell Variety the A Good Day To Die Hard star is being courted for a major part, which is rumored to be the anti-hero, who goes by the alter ego Floyd Lawton.
Studio bosses at Warner Bros. have declined to comment on the claims, which emerge days after Oscar winner Jared Leto became a frontrunner to portray The Joker in the same movie.
Earlier reports suggested producers are in talks with Tom Hardy to tackle Suicide Squad founding member Rick Flag and Margot Robbie to play Harley Quinn, while Will Smith is also wanted for a role, although it is not yet clear which character he is in the running for.
Fury filmmaker David Ayer will write and direct the film, which is scheduled for release in summer 2016.
