Daniel Bruhl Cast as ‘Captain America: Civil War’ Villain

Daniel Bruhl has reportedly been cast as the villain in the third installment of the Captain America franchise.

The star will join Chris Evans and Chadwick Boseman in Captain America: Civil War and will also reportedly appear in other Marvel Studio projects, including Doctor Strange, according to TheWrap.com.

Producer Kevin Feige says, “With Daniel’s ability to deliver intense, nuanced performances, we knew we had found yet another great actor to share the screen with some of our biggest heroes.”

Robert Downey Jr. has signed on to bring billionaire Tony Stark and his superhero alter ego to the third installment of the Captain America franchise as well. Samuel L. Jackson, Scarlett Johansson and Sebastian Stan also expected to make a return in the film.

Captain America: Civil War, which will be directed by Joe and Anthony Russo, will film in Atlanta in 2015 and is slated to hit theaters in May, 2016.
