Glee star Chris Colfer is preparing for a busy 2015 and beyond after signing a multi-book deal to expand his bestselling The Land of Stories series.
The actor is currently shooting the sixth and final season of the hit TV musical series and it appears he will be focusing on his writing career once filming wraps after agreeing to add two more installments to his popular young adult fantasy novels for publishing firm Little, Brown and Company.
The fourth and fifth books, which are currently untitled, will be released in July, 2015 and July, 2016, while Colfer will also create two Land of Stories picture books and a pair of companion volumes for a special holiday box set next Christmas.
In addition, the 24-year-old is also preparing to share a coming-of-age novel for teens, about a young actor’s relationship with his fans as he embarks on a “once-in-a-lifetime cross-country road trip”.
Colfer’s latest release, The Land of Stories: A Grimm Warning, hit retailers in July and boosted his book collection to the number four slot on the New York Times Best Sellers list for Children’s Series.
He is also in talks with major movie executives about turning the tales into a new film.
