Fox Halts Production on ‘Red Band Society’

Red Band Society is following closely behind NBC’s Constantine. Fox has announced that they will halt production after the series wraps its initial 13-episode order.

While the show has not officially been cancelled, it will air its fall finale on December 3. The final 3 episodes have not yet been scheduled.

There is still hope that the series will return for a second season, but ratings have been dropping from the series premiere which debuted to 4 million viewers. Last night’s episode only drew 2.9 million viewers. Red Band Society isn’t the only Fox series to be suffering that has premiered this fall, Utopia has already been cancelled, and Mulaney‘s episode order was reduced.

FanBolt recently visited the set of Red Band, and while we chatted with the cast about the series. Several of them had messages for fans, including Wilson Cruz.

“I think like ‘My So-Called Life,’ the life of this show has been dependent on the eagerness of the audience to really stay with us. I can’t say how grateful we are. We are truly grateful to everyone that has stuck with us, put the word out and tweeted about the show. We’re still here, because you guys have been so consistent. We’re really, really grateful, and we’re going to reward you with even better episodes we go along – so thank you!” – Wilson Cruz
