Kelly Rowland Mourns Mother Doris Rowland Garrison’s Passing
New mother Kelly Rowland has been plunged into mourning following the death of her mom.
Doris Rowland Garrison passed away in Atlanta, Georgia on Tuesday, four days before her 67th birthday.
Reports suggest she had been suffering from an undisclosed illness for some time.
The former Destiny’s Child star has paid tribute to Doris in a statement, which reads: “It is with deep sadness that I announce the passing of my mother, Doris Rowland Garrison. She was an incredible soul who made countless sacrifices so that I could become the woman – and now mother – I am today.
“We humbly appreciate all the love and support and only ask for privacy during this difficult time.”
The sad news emerges as the singer and her new husband Tim Weatherspoon prepare to mark their baby son Titan’s one-month birthday on Thursday.
The couple wed in May.
