Natalie Portman’s Western ‘Jane Got a Gun’ Delayed for Second Time
Natalie Portman’s troubled Western Jane Got a Gun has been delayed for a second time, and will be released late next year.
Executives at Relativity Media and the Weinstein Co. were initially hoping to release the problem-plagued film in August, but they announced in April that the movie would hit cinemas in the U.S. in February, 2015.
However, studio bosses announced on Wednesday that the movie has been pushed back yet again, and is now slated for a release on September 4.
Jane Got a Gun has faced a series of delays and casting changes, starting with director Lynne Ramsay dropping out of the project last year.
Gavin O’Connor stepped in to replace her and took on a cast that included Portman, Noah Emmerich, Joel Edgerton and Ewan McGregor.
The movie has also undergone numerous cast changes – Michael Fassbender, Jude Law and Bradley Cooper have all bailed on the film. Edgerton took over the role vacated by Fassbender, while McGregor replaced both Law and Cooper.
