‘The Grand Budapest Hotel’ and ‘Boyhood’ Score Six Online Film Critics Society Awards Nominations

The Grand Budapest Hotel and Boyhood are the films to beat at the Online Film Critics Society awards after scooping six nominations each.

Richard Linklater’s drama and the Wes Anderson oddball comedy both received nods in the Best Picture, Best Director and Best Original Screenplay categories, while Boyhood stars Ethan Hawke and Patricia Arquette earned nominations for Best Supporting Actor and Best Supporting Actress respectively.

Other Best Picture nominees include The Lego Movie, Selma, Two Days, One Night, Nightcrawler, Whiplash, Under the Skin and foreign-language films Ida and Mommy.

The Grand Budapest Hotel‘s star Ralph Fiennes landed a Best Actor nod, alongside Brendan Gleeson for Calvary, Jake Gyllenhaal (Nightcrawler), Michael Keaton (Birdman) and Timothy Spall (Mr. Turner).

Two Days, One Night star Marion Cotillard will be up against Still Alice‘s Julianne Moore and Gone Girl‘s Rosamund Pike for the Best Actress prize.

Josh Brolin, Edward Norton, Mark Ruffalo and J.K. Simmons also earned Best Supporting Actor mentions, while Jessica Chastain and Tilda Swinton compete for Best Supporting Actress.

Other nominees in the Best Director category include brothers Jean-Pierre and Luc Dardenne (Two Days, One Night), Ava DuVernay (Selma) and Jonathan Glazer (Under the Skin).

Winners will be announced on December 12.
