Angelina Jolie Hands Out Scholarships at Hollywood Reporter Breakfast

Angelina Jolie made two two inner-city high school girls very happy at The Hollywood Reporter’s Women in Entertainment Power 100 breakfast this morning! Jolie presented them with scholarships to Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles.

Melissa and Megan, were handed the two full-ride scholarships, valued at over $400,000, by the actress/director.

Jolie, who was the top movie star on the 2014 Power 100, told the audience at Milk Studios that both girls come from “underprivileged backgrounds”, and added, “to come to a university like this is a dream”.

Scandal creator Shonda Rhimes was also honored at the event – she was presented with the Sherry Lansing Leadership Award by actor Tony Goldwyn, while Michelle Obama paid tribute to her via video. Rhimes also appeared on the Power 100 list, which was topped by NBC Universal executive Bonnie Hammer.
