Gwyneth Paltrow is hoping to add travel guru and trip planner to her impressive resume in 2015 after announcing plans to launch a new app full of getaway advice.
The actress is already an accomplished lifestyle mogul, thanks to her blog goop.com, and a food writer, and now she wants to combine all her hobbies by offering up tips about the best places to enjoy a holiday.
In a note posted in the latest goop newsletter, Paltrow writes, “A comprehensive Escapes guide (and app, coming soon!) has been on our wish list since goop was born.”
And to give fans a taste of what is to come, she lists some of her favorite vacation destinations, adding, “Below, you’ll find getaways for every occasion, whether you have a free weekend and want to hop in the car for a two-night stay, or are looking for a once-in-a-lifetime experience.
“There are also plenty of options for when you need some self-care, either to reboot your system or recover from trauma. We have stayed in most of these, but not all. The rest are recommendations from trusted friends who have never led us astray.”
The star continues: “Nothing lets you know where you are in time and space like traveling to a new destination. Traveling is a deep passion and one of the reasons I started goop back in the day. I was tired of paid-off concierges directing me to the wrong restaurants in foreign cities and kickbacks that led travel agents to recommend the wrong hotels.
“I took to stopping the camera truck driver in Naples to ask him where the best pizza was, and the coolest looking girl on the street in Paris for her favorite cafe/shop/secrets.
“We have worked long and hard on our new guide, ESCAPES, which we will continue to add to as we (and our trusted friends) continue our journeys around the globe in search of whatever we are searching for. These guides represent what we are frequently called, emailed and asked about: Where to go for romance, reset, detox, or a generally wonderful and sometimes life-changing vacation. We are not about including every option under the sun. We like to think we do the work for you.”
