‘Red Band Society’ Canceled

Oscar winners Octavia Spencer and Steven Spielberg’s TV adaptation of Red Band Society has officially been canceled.

Production on the hospital-based series, an adaptation of Spanish-language show Polseres Vermelles, was halted in November after its initial 13 episodes failed to bring in high ratings.

Executives did not reveal if there would be a second season at the time, but they have ultimately decided not to move forward with the series, according to Eonline.com.

The remaining three episodes are slated to air on FOX beginning on January 31 and a two-hour finale is scheduled for February 7.

In the show, The Help star Spencer plays a strict nurse in charge of a group of unruly teenage patients.

Since the show is filmed here in Georgia, we had a chance to talk to the cast at the end of last year, so feel free to reminisce on the good old days while watching:

How do you feel about the show’s cancellation? Why do you think it didn’t stick around? Let us know in the comments below.
