‘X-Files’ May Return to TV

FOX TV Group chairman Gary Newman said during a recent presentation that the network is in talks to renew Chris Carter’s The X-Files. He added that they would like to bring back David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson, but that hasn’t been confirmed. No other details were revealed.

The series ran from 1993 to 2002 for 202 episodes. A feature film, Fight the Future, happened between seasons five and six. A second film arrived in 2008, I Want To Believe. The series brought in 21 Emmy nominations and had a spin-off series (The Lone Gunmen), comics, video games and more.

No word on if they’ll finally get around to resolving the alien colonization plot that the show ended with. Several fans were irritated when the 2008 film turned out to be a stand-alone story.

Would rebooting the series be a good idea or bad? Let us know your thoughts below.
