Big Sean Opens Up About Naya Rivera Split

Big Sean has opened up about his split from former fiancee Naya Rivera, insisting she was simply creating “unnecessary drama” by falsely accusing him of stealing a pricey watch from her house.

The rapper called off his engagement to the Glee star in April, 2014, just six months after confirming they were planning to wed.

Sean’s representative claimed he wished Rivera “nothing but the best” following their split, but the break-up appeared to be far from amicable for the actress, who subsequently blasted her ex in a post on Twitter, calling him out for allegedly taking a Rolex watch from her pad as he collected his things.

The tweet was promptly deleted, but Sean has now addressed the allegations in a candid interview with Complex magazine, insisting he has proof of purchase for every Rolex he owns.

He explains, “First of all, why would I have to steal a Rolex?. Second of all, every Rolex that I have, I have receipts for, papers for, certificates of authenticity for. I would never steal a Rolex from anybody. You see that tweet got deleted in like 20 seconds.”

Sean goes on to admit he was not surprised by Rivera’s actions, suggesting he had experienced such outbursts from her before: “I felt like it was unnecessary drama ’cause in my eyes it (the theft allegation) wasn’t true. I wasn’t surprised by it. Even though I didn’t steal anything, I wasn’t surprised by it.”

He also touched on the inspiration for his controversial song “I.D.F.W.U. (I Don’t F**k with You),” admitting there is one line specifically about Rivera, although he claims the track “did not come from a bitter place at all”.

The lyric in question features Sean rapping, “And everyday I wake up celebrating s**t, why?/’Cause I just dodged a bullet from a crazy b**ch”.

Sean has since moved on to date Ariana Grande, while Rivera rebounded by marrying actor Ryan Dorsey in July.
