Snoop Dogg Looking to Invest in Marijuana Startups

Hip-hop veteran Snoop Dogg is aiming to raise $25 million to invest in start-up technology businesses affiliated with the legalized marijuana industry.

The rapper, a well-known weed aficionado and businessman, is looking to cash in on the growing popularity of the cannabis market, which is now completely legal in Colorado, Washington, Alaska and Oregon, and is reportedly putting together the funds to finance new business ideas, according to Techcrunch.com.

Also according to the site, “the fund’s bets won’t have anything to do with cultivation and production. Instead, it will focus on tech affiliated with the growing legal cannabis industry.”

Representatives for the rapper have yet to comment on the story, but Snoop is no stranger to the tech world after investing in online forum Reddit.com.
