San Francisco: 48 Hours To Work, Play and Dine
FanBolt was recently in San Francisco to host WSC Live at Walker Stalker Con! Even though we were only there for about 48 hours, we had a complete blast working with the convention, and even had a little bit of time to explore the city Saturday evening.
First up, we worked the convention Saturday and Sunday, though it never feels like work for us. It’s always such an incredible experience when we get to see the cast of The Walking Dead – whether it’s home in Atlanta, at a press junket, on a red carpet or even out at Comic-Con.

San Francisco Dining – Pier Market
After we wrapped on Saturday, we were excited to check out some of the local cuisine. After a long day, and just pizza for lunch, we were dying for some seafood! We had the chance to dine at Pier Market on PIER 39, and we completely fell in love.
The Simmons family, which owns the restaurant, has been a huge part of San Francisco for over 30 years! They actually created and developed PIER 39! Being a family owned business aside, they are also a sustainable seafood company – which means that they only purchase sustainable seafood following the guidelines of the Monterrey Bay Aquarium’s Seafood Watch program and Aquarium of the Bay.
Saying Pier Market took good care of us is a bit of an understatement. They put together 5 amazing dishes for us to try, one of which I’m still craving two weeks later.
Moscow Mule (One of Pier Market’s most popular drinks)
Sweet & Sour Calamari (Still dreaming about)
Crab Cakes – (The second most popular appetizer behind the Calamari)
New England Clam Chowder – (Voted Best on Fisherman’s Warf)
Cioppino (A classic San Francisco dish. A tomato based seafood stew with fresh fish, mussels, clams, shrimp and crab served over pasta.)
Pier Market Mixed Grill (Featuring fresh salmon, fresh swordfish and shrimp skewer)
My favorite dish was the very first one, the sweet and sour calamari. This is huge coming from me, because I’m generally not a fan at all of calamari. However, I could have eaten just this all night and been more than happy.
All in all, the food at Pier Market was delectable! It was a great blend of seafood complemented by an amazing atmosphere and the sweetest staff you could possibly imagine. If you’re in San Francisco, definitely make your way down to the Fisherman’s Wharf area and check out Pier Market on PIER 39. We really appreciate them taking such good care of us and sending us home with bellies full of delicious seafood!
And huge thank you also to Walker Stalker Con for bringing us out to work with their amazing event! Also, a second huge thank you to the city of San Francisco and their tourism department. It was such an incredible trip. We returned home with full bellies and lots of amazing memories!
