‘American Horror Story’ Star Jamie Brewer Makes New York Fashion Week History

American Horror Story actress Jamie Brewer will make history at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week in New York City when she becomes the first woman with Down syndrome to walk the runway.

The actress, 30, will be part of designer Carrie Hammer’s Role Models Not Runway Models campaign during the upcoming week-long event.

Brewer insists she’s the right person to make history on the catwalk, explaining, “Young girls and even young women say, ‘Hey, if she can do it so can I’. It’s a true inspiration being a role model for any young women.”

Hammer is hoping the designs she’s creating for Brewer will impress America’s First Lady Michelle Obama as she’d love to style the President’s wife.
